Board of Directors

As set out in the Articles of Association, the Chilean Association of Translators and Interpreters A.G. is administered by seven members elected by the General Assembly of Members, which last two years in office. Directors perform this function on a voluntary basis, ad-honorem, without receiving any compensation and in strict compliance with the provisions of the Articles of Association and the highest ethical standards.


    A graduate of the English/French translation program at Catholic University of Chile with a Master’s in Linguistics from the University of Montreal, Maria Eugenia has broad experience translating texts in the social and physical sciences and is registered as an expert translator with the Appellate Court of Santiago. She teaches history, translation theory and strategy and professional at the university level. She has served as President of COTICH on two occasions.


    BA in English Language and translator, English to Spanish, the Chilean-British University of Santiago. With experience in technical translation. Camila has worked with prestigious organizations and companies such as the National Center for Conservation and Restoration (CNCR) – Heritage Geoinformation Unit (UGP), Political Foundation of the Federal Republic of Germany, Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS ),among others.


    Teacher and translator German, Spanish. Undergraduate studies at the University of Chile and gradúate studies at the University of Leipzig and the School of Education Karl Friedrich Wilhelm Wander (Germany). She worked in Intertext Fremdsprachendienst Dresden y Verlag Zeit im Bild (Germany) and the Swiss School in Santiago, Chile. Currently, freelance translator for Literature, Education and Social Sciences from German to Spanish. Editor of Nativa Ediciones. Member of the Society of Writers of Chile and the Chilean Association of Translators and Interpreters since 2013.

  • Susana Legradi, Treasurer

    In addition to her studies in Translation, Susana has university-level studies in Anthropology, English Literature and Obstetrics. She holds an advanced degree from the Institute of Applied Linguistics of Universidad Pompeu Fabra in Barcelona, Spain. She is a member of TREMEDICA and ATA. Her fields of expertise include the medical sciences and pharmaceuticals.


    English-Portuguese translator graduated from the University of Santiago, Chile and Chinese-Spanish translator. She worked as in-house translator for the Centre for Experimental Social Sciences Oxford, USACH and currently works as a freelance translator in the academic area, collaborating with teams from different areas and institutions.


    Teacher and translator: German, Spanish and English. Undergraduate studies at the University of Chile and graduate studies in modern philology at the University of Heidelberg (Master Atrium).Teacher in translation studies since 1972. Tutor for the graduate program in translation studies, University of Warwick, UK. Cofounder of the Chilean Association of Translators and 2000 – 2004 president. 2004 – 2008 past president, 2012 – 20014 vice president. Translations in the cultural and educational field specialized in translating and recording audio guides for tourism and cultural purposes.


    Over 20 years experience in technical translations, mainly for the insurance industry, including specialized texts covering the fields of mining, machinery, engineering, banking and finances, as well as medical research, health reports and legal documents.
